10 Blocks Challenge reflection

The ten block challenge helps you learn scratch because it shows how much you can do with so few blocks. It makes it so you have to be more creative and flexible with what you can do.....

Reflection for Try it Out

It is surprising how much you can do with such a simple looking program It was really easy and simple so in that way it was good but it also makes it so you don't have to figure it out on your own, which can be a negative. I like having more structure at the very beginning but then as you learn more you get more freedom. I feel most creative when I am unleashed

Haha that last one was a joke

This helped me learn scratch because it expanded my thoughts on the computer industry. I love the scratch program because it helps the lives of children. And I am almost a child so it does kind've help me in a way if you think about it. This impacts my ideas by allowing me to take a much cleaner approach to creating my scratch post. This is really fun.

Goldman Sachs is a Great Company

At Goldman Sachs they totally care a lot about the people that work for them. They care so much in fact that they don't have a human resources section. So that's that. They do have a Human Capital management but that more talks about what qualities they like to see employee. It is a bummer but its also the truth.

At Goldman Sachs they do both internal recruiting and external recruiting because that's the way to go!

The finance teams manage the firm’s liquidity, capital and risk, and provide the overall financial control and reporting function.
At Goldman Sachs I want to be just like David the associate because he is succeeding in the finance division and he has so much potential. He is a young man and he looks fresh and radiant. I love Dave and I really want to be like him

3. I would like to learn more about angle brackets. I would also like to learn more about what types of websites I could make. Like could I just make any type of site? I don't really know. I am also interested in how to make images. Cause it says you can but I don't understand it so what can I do with that?

2. One thing I learned is that you can type in <body> and that is the start of the body of your website.  I also learned that headings are defined with the <h1> to <h6> tags.

1. I am concerned about whether I can make an aesthetically pleasing webpage.

A new binary system could be cats and dogs. The cats represent  zeroes and the dogs represent ones. So if the sequence was catdogcatcatdog the number in binary would be 18.

Blog Post 9... the gaaame

1. The highest level I got to was level 5.
2. The hardest part is how fast you have to do mental math.
3. Yeaah
4. It is exactly the same. You just have the thumb be 1 pointer be 2, middle 4, ring 8, and pinky 16.
5. You can use binary to store data in computers.

One thing I learned is that wires are good conductors. I also learned what a headphone jack was. Finally I learned what a volt was.

I don't really understand what this base number thing means. I am also confused about how a phone can emit sound waves. What is a sound wave?

One thing I would like to know more about is if he gets his hair cut.

Eliza

I did not find Eliza human like at all. She doesn't know how to properly respond in a human way because she is so limited in the number of responses she is programmed to use.

Give her more varied responses. She is just too limited.

Well its just going to say whatever its programmed to say. So if the author puts emotional responses in, then there are emotional responses. I don't really expect anything when I look at a program.

I don't think computers will ever be better in the field of psychology because they lack any form of empathy. So whoever programmed the computer would automatically be as good as the computer at being a psychologist.

Google

It began as a research project with the two Google boys at Stanford. They found a way to make a faster and more efficient search engine. The superiority of the search engine over competitors like yahoo made it flourish. The company expanded very quickly and now it is one of the biggest in the world.

Initially the google guys thought the company was getting in the way of their academic pursuits so they tried to sell it. But everyone turned them down. They also had the problem of a lack of funding. Luckily, help came in the form of Andy Bechtolshein who invested 100,000 dollars in google to get them off their feet.

Their key to being ahead is a faster more efficient search engine. Basically the key to success is a better product.

They used click rates for links on certain pages and that is how the priorities for certain websites are made.

Computers and Africans

Mangbetu art originates in the Zaire region of Africa, land that is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  This art uses all four geometric transformations including translations, reflections, rotations, and scaling. The material used is ivory. They carve patterns into the ivory.

What do natice americans do in their free time?

Beads, beads, beads!!! These guys use their looms to make interesting designs of using only beads made of shells. It's fourfold symmetry! They use math. There were a couple images thrown in there as well. You have your classic wompum belt of the late 18th century. You have your lovely Inuit girl in her voluminous parka. There was a very enlightening piucture of a loom. And never forget the picture of the Cartesian Coordinate system. Reflection symmetry is Like us. If you stick a mirror in the middle of say a human. I wouldn't actually do that because that's gross, but say you did. One half would reflect almost perfectly onto the other. And that is reflective symmetry. Quaternary is the base-4 numeral system. It uses the digits 0, 1, 2 and 3 to represent any real number. Now, four fold symmetry for number three is used in graphing. In number four it is used for clothing sizes. The beadwork originated in 1794.

Let me give you my opinion on my sopcial media usage yesterday. I used snapchat more than normal because I was at zynga with the boyz. I also talked to some people on facebook messenger. Might of been a tweet in there as well. Other than all the snapchats this was a fairly normal day of social media usage.

I liked the variety of search terms. I do think this is a slightly outdated assignment though because almost every high schooler knows how to use google. But that's alright I still had a pretty good time doing it

The U.S. department of commerce is one of the best websites on the internet web. One article I especially liked was

U.S. Commerce Department Releases Data on Nation's Growing Hispanic Population to Kick Off Hispanic Heritage Month. This article was great because it shows how Hispanics are effecting the united states economy

Working with my partner has been very easy. This is the type of project where work is very easily divided up so it has been a very clear-cut process.

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Ian Tucker. I am a veteran member of the chess club also known to some as the cross country feeder club. My favorite movie would have to be either The Fighter or The Departed.  My favorite TV show is Justified. Justified is a great show about a state marshal named Raylan in Harlan County Kentucky, which is an area riddled with crime and a real redneck atmosphere. Great show. My favorite class has got to be math because it comes fairly easily to me and I find it interesting.
